West Elm - Rug faded after 6 months
I bought this jute rug in January 2015 because the blue grey colour went well with my decor. However after only 6 months it had faded to a dingy muddy tan.
The photos below show the original colour on the underside of the rug.
I contacted West Elm submitting photos as proof of the deterioration but was eventually told it was natural fading caused by daylight. Most people have rooms with windows don't they? What are we supposed to do? Live in complete darkness? I have a similar jute rug bought from another company and it is still the same colour it was the day I bought it 2 years ago despite being bathed in sunlight all day long.
The rug cost 180 pounds sterling. At that price I would expect my purchase to last longer than a few months.
West Elm has now cut off all communication with me. This level of customer service is totally unacceptable and I plan to take the matter up with the small claims court.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Location: Bath, England
